Bethany Children’s Health Center receives $25,000 grant from the Kirschner Trusts at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation Oklahoma City, OK

Pathways Program

Bethany, OK – August 18, 2023 — Bethany Children’s Health Center is pleased to announce it has received a $25,000 grant from the Kirschner Trusts at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. The grant will be used to assist in funding the Pathways program, which will allow Bethany Children’s to expand access to services originally offered to inpatients at the hospital to teens and young adults with disabilities who are living in the community.

The Pathways Program offers valuable life skills development for those with chronic health challenges and disabilities, including volunteer and community service opportunities, recreation and peer support activities, vocational training, and job placement resources. Bethany Children’s is finding innovative ways to engage and teach children of all abilities.

“We are so pleased to receive this grant,” says Jana Wing, Advocacy Program Manager. “This expansion increases the opportunities to promote more independence and self-sustainability among adolescents and young adults, therefore providing more avenues to instill hope and optimism for the future.”
