ATV Safety Education Programs

Oklahoma Schools, Youth Groups and Organizations

Oklahoma schools, youth groups and organizations can receive community based All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Safety Education and Injury Prevention programs through the ATV Ride Safe Oklahoma Coalition.

Program

Youth and adults learn the basic fundamentals of All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Safety, with an emphasis on helmets/riding gear, operating right size ATV for their age and size, risk management and parent supervision. The one and a half – two hour program includes a PPT presentation, ATV safety video, hands-on activities in addition to utilizing 2 – 3 various sized ATVs for static demonstration. Multiple programs can be conducted each day.

Ride Safe ATVs

The RiderCourse includes:

  • Pre-ride inspection
  • Starting/stopping
  • Quick turns
  • Hill riding
  • Emergency stopping/swerving
  • Riding over obstacles

You’ll also learn about protective gear, local regulations, places to ride and environmental concerns.

Hands-On ATV Safety RiderCourse Program

ATV Safety Training

The goal is to provide this hands-on training to youth and adults.

This hands-on half-day, ATV RiderCourse is conducted by licensed ATV Safety Institute Instructors. The course offers students an opportunity to increase their safety knowledge and to practice basic riding skills in a controlled environment under the direct supervision of a licensed Instructor.

  • How much does it cost?

    A small fee may be charged to cover expenses like transportation, equipment maintenance, ATV fuel and facility use.

  • What do I need?

    • An ATV of the appropriate size for your age
    • DOT compliant Helmet
    • Googles
    • Gloves
    • Over-the-ankle boots
    • Long pants
    • Long sleeve shirt or jacket
