Hospital Completes Art Project Funded by the Fred Jones Family Foundation

The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital is now Bethany Children’s Health Center.

The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital recently completed a special art project, using a $75,000 grant from the Fred Jones Family Foundation called the Mary Eddy Jones Signature Gift Project 2018.

The art project includes fourteen outdoor kinetic art sculptures created and installed by Andrew Carson, a Seattle artist who specializes in interactive art. The sculptures were added throughout the 18-acre Hospital campus primarily outside patient room windows.

The Fred Jones Family Foundation created the Mary Eddy Jones Signature Gift in 2010 in honor of the late Mary Eddy Jones to continue her legacy. The grant supports the missions of central Oklahoma nonprofits.

“The Fred Jones Family Foundation is pleased to award the Mary Eddy Jones Signature Gift to The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital.  The Hospital has maintained a high degree of excellence for many years, and their continued support and high-quality health care for the children is truly amazing.  The sculptures will provide creativity, excitement, and comfort for the children and their families,” said Wendy House, vice president, Fred Jones Family Foundation.

“We are grateful for the generous gift the Fred Jones Family Foundation made to the Hospital. Art is known for contributing to health, healing and well-being. For this reason, we strategically placed the sculptures around the Hospital to ensure patients, patient families, staff and visitors have the opportunity to enjoy these beautifully designed works of art,” said Lori Boyd, chief operating officer, The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital.
