 Pediatric Neurologist brings interest in Cerebral Palsy and movement disorders to hospital

Bethany Children’s Health Center announced that Dr. Amber Stocco, Pediatric Neurologist has joined the medical team at the Hospital. Dr. Stocco will serve as Medical Director of Child & Adolescent Neurology.

Dr. Stocco graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completed a dual Residency in Pediatrics & Child Neurology through Baylor College of Medicine, mainly at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. She trained in programs in Brigham, England; Miraj, India; Esquipulus, Guatemala; and Dublin, Ireland.

Dr. Stocco served as Director of the Pediatric Movement Disorder Clinic and Co-Director of the Cerebral Palsy Clinic at Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH), as well as starting the TCH Tourette Clinic at a satellite location in Clear Lake, Texas. She also co-founded the TCH Deep Brain Stimulation program with neurosurgeon Dr. Daniel J. Curry, and the Spasticity & Movement Disorder Clinic in cooperation with PM+R & Neurosurgery.

Most recently, Dr. Stocco joined the Pediatric Neurology team at INTEGRIS Pediatric Specialties in Oklahoma City, OK. She played a key role in restarting the multidisciplinary movement disorder clinic in partnership with Bethany Children’s Health Center and Neurosurgeon, Dr. Virendra Desai, of Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health, with a focus on surgical options for dystonia & spasticity, including deep brain stimulation, intrathecal baclofen pumps, and dorsal and palliative rhizotomy.
